Today Look ~ Head over Heels

I'm wearing....? Coat, Top and Earrings gifted ~ Tights from Mr Price ~ Boots from Rage.

I am head over heels in love with these booties and literally head over heels towering in them (no jokes). Someone said that tall girls should not wear high heels because they'd look gigantic (Tsk). I am over 175 cm and I couldn't disagree more with that statement. Heels elongate your legs, give you sex appeal, and make you feel like you can conquer the world but I love heels because it gives me that confidence boost, adds a little something special/extra to all my outfits and if I wasn't already standing out it would make me REALLY stand out. Marilyn Monroe couldn't have been more right when she said:

"Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world."

I say give a girl the right pair of heels and she can conquer the world. Tall girls should not wear high heels (if they want. This booties are ridiculously high and I wear them on occasions like these were minimal walking is involved (seriously). Thankfully, Uni is currently in Swot week (a study week were we have no classes but a free week of self studying before the exams). Therefore, I can afford to wear my precious boots. Lets be realistic, I couldn't wear these booties walking around campus, not only would they get ruined from tear and wear but it just wouldn't be practical. Trust me, here at Rhodes University you WALK. You walk to and fro lectures. You walk to the shops and you walk back home (and that's the story of my life as a student). Enjoy the pictures below. xo.

p.s. Don't you think this title post reminds you of the blog name. Lastly, I have a week until my exams start (Aaargh!). Wish me luck :-)

Fashion Attraction ~ Winter Looks

Hello lovelies, I've been missing in action lately but when school calls I REALLY have to answer. I just don't have any will power over it what so ever but I just have to oblige meekly to it. So have you all finally noticed that the cold has sneakily slipped in these couple of days and has finally settled in (Aargh!). Well I've certainly noticed because I've been having some major cold feet lately and I don't mean the cold feet when you're nervous about something . So here are some looks that have indeed warmed me up and that I'm totally crushing on. Hope you enjoy. xo.

P.S Let me know what's your favourite look. I love the 80's look that the people in the above picture are spotting. Totally chic, right?

New Additions ~ Sicy Accessories

For the longest time I've bought jewelry from Sicy Accessories. I remember when I was really young one of the first earrings I bought (the first earrings I'd owned period) were from Sicy Accessories. Sicy Accessories is owned by Sifon Uko, a long time family friend. For years, she's been creating intricate bead work in necklaces, earrings and accessorising items such as shoes and bags. She always seems to match the perfect bend of coloured beads together and hand picks the finest beads to use (I know this because I've actually seen her spend hours selecting the best beads). I never understand, though, how she manages to pick the best beads and still be affordable. Trust me beads don't come cheap. As a person who loves accessories and dapples in DIY myself, I am always eager to see the new batch of accessories she has in store. Her creativity never ceases to amaze me. Here are a few items I picked up from her recently. Aren't they exquisite? I can't wait to pair these items with my outfits. My favourite is the green necklace that comes with matching earrings (above photo). Which are you favourite?

To view more of Sicy Accessories or you're interested in purchasing a few items visit her page here. She does international shipping as well. ;-)

By the way, can you believe that I still have the first earrings that I bought from Sicy Accessories when I was about 12/13/14 years old (Can't remember my exact age).

Happy Saturday All. xo

Todays Look ~ Silent Musings

I'm wearing....? Cardigan from Meltz ~ Sheer top and Jeans gifted ~ Dot earrings from Jay Jays ~ Pumps from Mr Price.

Hello darlings. So today it looks like I'm staring at the camera, right? Whilst I might be looking directly at the camera, I'm completely lost in thoughts with each flashlight of the camera. Thoughts about life. Thoughts of trying to do the right thing. Thoughts of how life sometimes gets a tad complicated. Thoughts of reaching cross roads and trying to deal with it. Thoughts of trying to make amends with the people we hurt and being selfish if you don't. But one thing I know is that life is too short and we should live life the best way we  know how even though we'll make mistakes along the way (we only human right).

By the way how amazing is this ragged throw on cardigan (a 360 degrees change in topic). At first, I really was not taken with this cardigan until I was convinced that it would make a unique item to wear with various pieces of clothing in my wardrobe. I couldn't agree any less now. It can be perfectly paired with long sleeve tops and jazzes up an outfit when the weather is mildly cold. So, I'd like to admit now to the whole world that I am completely and whole heartily taken with this cardigan :-)

Hope you darlings have had a fabulous day. xo

Hairspiration ~ Twisted Top Knot

 Source: Google Images

Hello lovelies, this top knot is exactly what its name implies. A twist and then a knot. This is the hairspiration that I spotted last week Thursday and Friday. I drew inspiration from Suzaan Heynes sleek top knot at SA fashion week and Thandie Newton's side bun. This is definitely one of my favourite hairstyles because it adds a little chic to my look. It's easy to recreate if your hair is shoulder length or longer. But I added a little tip on how to create  this look for shorter hair.

Here's how I created it:

1. Start by washing your hair. Leave your hair wet as your hair will beasier to work with wet and to achieve a sleek look. (That is if you have a thick volume/mass of hair). But if you have fine hair, you can skip this step and prep hair with a smooth down detangling cream or hairspray.

2. Start by pulling your hair into a sleek high ponytail. I chose a high side ponytail.

3. Twist it around itself.

4. Then pull thend through the bun. Secure with (bobby) pins.

5. You can leave 2 cm or more (depending on the length of your hair) of the loosend that is protruding through the bun as a high wisp of hair. This gives the hair thauthenticity that it's a knot.

6. Finish with hairspray to hold the hair in place and keep the look sleek. Voila!

[Note: My hair was a little short so I could not leave a high wisp of hair]

Tip for shorter hair:

1. Start by washing your hair. Leave your hair wet as your hair will beasier to work with wet and to achieve a sleek look. (That is if you have a thick volume/mass of hair). But if you have fine hair, you can skip this step and prep hair with a smooth down detangling cream or hairspray.

2. Pull your hair into a sleek high ponytail.

3. Make a little bun/puff.

4. Then secure with a second elastic.

5. Keep look sleek by finishing off with hairspray.

6. Voila! You have a side bun.
