Have you ever wonder why they call such dresses skater dresses? Honestly it beats me why. But that's why there's Google! With fashion and trends somethings are just unexplained or don't really have reasons to them but that doesn't stop the way I love this bold, graphic, colourful, paint splatter of a skater dress. It brings me such delight when I wear it and the brilliant thing about it is that you don't need to accessorise the look as the dress just speaks for itself. You stand out from a mile. P.S. Apparently skater dresses get their name because their silhouette resemble the dresses that figure skaters wear; that “A” line silhouette. So they are pretty much the modern version of the A-line dresses/skirts which are narrower at the top and flare out like the letter "A". Anyone who knows me knows I like such silhouette as it flatters my shape and distracts from my tum.
